The world's most customisable and trusted open-source learning system will be releasing Moodle 4.0 in April 2022. Watch the interview below with the Head of Moodle LMS, Sander Bangma, to get a few insights on what you can expect from Moodle 4.0.


New and Improved Navigation
Moodle 4.0 has made it easier for users to view their courses and completion details at a glance. The course index on the course page makes it easier for both students and educators to find activities and resources. Activity icons have also been redesigned which give the site a standardised clean and colourful look and feel, as well as making it easier for users to make a quick visual reference for particular activity types.

The new release of Moodle comes with the following additions for Administrators, Teachers, and Students.

  2. Open Badges v 2.1 compliancy
  3. Disable H5P content
  4. New PDF converter
  5. User profile fields
  6. Restore permission overrides

  2.  Accessibility checker
  3.  H5P and content bank
  4.  Question settings retained
  5.  Quiz Essay question
  6.  Activity completion report

New features available in Moodle 4.0 for students:

  1.  Clear view of tasks and deadlines
  2.  Never miss a deadline or task
  3.  Streamlined manual completion
  4.  Quiz pass grades
  5.  Audio / Video playback rates
  6.  Essay word limits
